For fashion-forward famous men, it’s the summer of the skirt.
Days after Brad Pitt practically broke the internet by rocking a brown linen skirt at the Berlin “Bullet Train” premiere, A$AP Rocky stepped out in a breezy version of the look.
The “Praise the Lord” rapper, 33, was spotted in Soho Monday wearing a knee-length black leather kilt with matching clogs and a layered Givenchy hoodie — summer heat wave be damned.
Much like his superstar significant other, Rihanna, Rocky has long been a fashion rule-breaker, and this isn’t his first time swapping pants for a skirt.
The musician modeled a plaid Vivienne Westwood kilt on the cover of GQ last summer, with the magazine dubbing him the “prettiest man alive.” He’s sported a number of similar checked styles while off duty, and even wore a dip-dyed, dress-length Ann Demeulemeester tank for an appearance on BET’s “106 & Park” back in 2012.
“I do things that really are appropriate for women: grandma babushkas, painting your nails,” Rocky told British Vogue in 2019 of his gender-fluid fashion sense.
“I do what the f—k I want. It’s just like hey, you know? There are no boundaries.”
As for Pitt, he paired his viral Haans Nicholas Mott skirt suit with a salmon-colored button-up shirt, combat boots and several necklaces.
Asked why he chose the skirt on the red carpet, the “Seven” actor simply replied, “The breeze. The breeze.”
He had an even better explanation for the look at his new film’s LA premiere this week, quipping, “We’re all going to die, so let’s mess it up.”
