“Siesta Key” star Kelsey Owens claims MTV gave her the boot while filming at a jiggle joint.
The model, 25, took to Instagram Friday to explain that the day before, she had been filming with the cast “at a freaking strip club of all places” when she was allegedly “informed” she would “be cut […] with absolutely no warning.”
“It’s mind blowing & truly disgusting that after working on a show since I was 19 years old where I’ve shared things about my personal life I wasn’t always comfortable with, revolved my whole life around, and put so much effort into could come to an end in such a disrespectful manner and so abrupt,” she continued.
She further claimed that production didn’t even thank her for “sharing the past 5 years” of her life.
In her lengthy post, which accompanied a picture of her modeling a bathing suit, the reality star shared that the news came as a complete shock.
Owens detailed, “I cried my eyes out then wiped those tears and filmed my last scene the best I could with my head held high.”
Despite being fired, she noted that she was “so grateful for the friends” she’s made, as well as the fans and the opportunities she’s had since starring on the show.
“I wish I could hug each & every one of you,” she expressed.
As Owens thanked her fans for their support, she further hinted at pursuing a modeling career after appearing in Miami Swim Week last month.
“My time on the show may have come to an end but this is just the beginning for me. 💗Time to strut my way into this next chapter,” she concluded her post.
Additionally, Owens flipped off the camera on her Instagram Story, which was captioned, “Siesta Key.”
A rep for MTV did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The last time fans saw Owens on the show, she was feuding with her former best friend, Juliette Porter, over their competing swimsuit lines.
Porter, who sat down with Page Six last week, said about the current state of their friendship, “Yes, there was some tension with Kelsey, but that has died down.
“We both wish each other the best. We have all made mistakes in our past. I have made some that I wish I could take back, but I am forever growing as a person, and I have learned from my mistakes.”
